The Knesset approved on Monday the second and third reading of a law expanding the criteria that cannot be used for discrimination in employment or promotions. They include: gender, reserves service, sexual preference, marital status, pregnancy, fertility treatment (including in-vitro), being a parent, age, race, religion, nationality, nation of origin, political party or political outlook.

Going into effect as well is a law regarding being accepted for a job, terms of employment, promotion, training or continuing professional education, dismissal or dismissal compensation, benefits and payments to workers upon retirement.
