Navy Prepared for Lebanon, Iran Flotillas

The Israel Navy is preparing to deal with ships from Iran and Lebanon that are expected to attempt this week to land in Gaza. Israeli security officials said that the ships were being organized by Hizbullah terrorists, under the guise of a “humanitarian flotilla.” Navy officials said they had learned much about how to deal with the threat in the course of handling the previous flotilla, and were prepared to head off the ships and prevent their entry into Gaza.

The government said Sunday that it holds the government of Lebanon fully responsible for what may result from the flotilla's attempt to break the blockade on Gaza, and that it sees the dispatching of the ships from a Lebanese port as a “hostile act” on the part of the Lebanese government.
