Labor Party minister Shalom Simhon has been chosen director of the Jewish National Fund. Simhon was chosen after a coalition of Labor Party, Meretz, and Reform Jews threw their weight behind him at the election held by the World Zionist Organization Thursday. Simhon received 49 votes, while his competitor, Reform candidate Menachem Leibovich, received 19 votes.
