The Finance Ministry on Sunday said it plans to expand the amount of land available for home construction. The Ministry plans to make changes to the Arrangements Law that will accompany the 2011 budget to authorize at least 70,000 housing units, to be built in 2011 and 2012. Of those homes, 25,000 will be built in the center of the country, 10,000 in Jerusalem, 6,000 in Tel Aviv itself, and 9,000 in Haifa. The balance will be built in peripheral areas, and will be offered with special discounts and incentives.
