National Union Chairman Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) praised Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu from the Knesset podium Tuesday night. Rabbi Eliyahu, said Ketzaleh, was “one of the special souls that G-d sends down to the world in each generation. Their job is to give life to the public, to act as a channel between the Jewish people and their Father in heaven. Rabbi Eliyahu was the rabbi of all the Jewish people, familiar with all aspects of the Torah, including the esoteric. There was no secret of Torah hidden from him.

“All of the Jewish people – religious and secular, Sephardic and Ashkenazic, Hareidi-religious and National-religious, all gathered at his doorway, seeking his blessings, his prayers, his religious rulings, his instructions for life, the individual and the community,” said Ketzaleh.
