Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu expressed deep sadness Monday evening at the passing of former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu.

Netanyahu said, "Rabbi Eliyahu was a first-rate spiritual leader of religious Zionism, a loyal righteous member of our people who combined words of Torah, clear analysis and sage advice."
