Director-General Shimshon Shushani of the Education Ministry gave instructions Monday to lower an hour's salary from Tel Aviv teachers who did not teach the first hour of classes Monday morning as part of a job action by the Secondary School Teachers Association.
The teachers struck because of what they called illegal dismissals and other harm to teachers' rights. The teachers have been negotiating a new contract with the city for more than a year.
