Middle East Envoy George Mitchell of the United States said Thursday evening that the goal of the United States under President Barack Obama is clearly comprehensive peace in the Middle East. Speaking at the office of Defense Minister Ehud Barak in Tel Aviv, the former senator said that includes peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Lebanon and Syria, as well as normalization of relations.
He said the U.S. is firm in its intent to invest energy and effort toward this goal.
