The Knesset Economics Committee will hold a discussion on Wednesday on a request by Transportation and Road Safety Minister Yisrael Katz to expand annual auto emissions tests.
Under the proposal, carbon tests currently applicable to cars built since 1995 will be applied to cars built in 1994 and before. In addition, the newer cars will be subjected to tests at higher revolutions per minute to evaluate the shape of their catlytic converters.
