Northern District Commander Gaby Eisenkott of the Israel Defense Forces ordered formation of an investigative team Thursday evening to take a look at the causes and factors involved in the Golan Heights fire that was blamed on shells that were fired during a pre-dawn exercise. The fire destroyed 10,000 dunams of land in the Gamla nature reserve.
The team has been assigned the mission of presenting the IDF with ideas on how to minimize the recurrence of such an event.
