Prosecution Asks Olmert, Aide to be Tried Together

Prosecutors asked on Monday that witnesses in the RishonTours case against former prime minister Ehud Olmert testify in a single hearing in his case and the case of Rachel Risby-Raz, who is also charged in the case. The prosecutors cited the preparation needed for the testimony and the expense involved in separate testimonies and said they were the same witnesses.

The prosecutors also asked the Jerusalem District Court to be able to take testimony from witnesses who are abroad. The case involves allegations that Olmert double-billed the government and non-governmental organizations for appearances abroad in a way that allowed family members to travel with him for free.
