Member of Knesset Ilan Gilon (Meretz - New Leftist Movement) visited the Gush Katif Museum in Jerusalem on the eve of the Shavuot holiday. He said he wanted to see the museum up close and feel the pain of the Jews who were uprooted by the government in 2005.

After the tour, he said, "In spite of my sharp differences with people on the right, the evacuation was neither moral nor human, and I'll do all I can so that the cry of the uprooted will result in a solution. The residents of Gush Katif are a weak population that the government has to take care of them with all due urgency and try to repair the terrible rift in which they find themselves."
