The Knesset defeated two motions of no-confidence in the government on Monday. A motion by the Kadima party, citing funding for hareidi religious education, received only 29 of the 61 votes needed. Forty-nine Knesset members voted against with one abstention.
A motion by the predominantly Arab parties, which cited discrimination in funding and employment opportunities for Arabs received only 24 yes votes, as compared to 51 no votes.
