The Movement for Quality Government asked the Attorney General on Monday to tell Mayor Tzvi Bar of Ramat Gan to suspend himself from the chairmanship of the local planning and building commission, pending a decision on suspicions of corruption against him.
The movement said the suspension is necessary for the public's trust. It cited reports that the police department's national fraud unit has recommended that Bar be tried for accepting a bribe from a developer.
