The Knesset easily defeated two motions of no-confidence in the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday. A motion by the Kadima party, citing politicization of the Israel Broadcasting Authority only got 29 of the 61 votes needed to pass. There were 50 no votes and 12 Knesset members did not take part.
A motion by the predominantly Arab parties, which cited the state of education in eastern Jerusalem received only 22 yes votes, as compared to 49 no votes and 2 abstentions.
