President Shraga Brosh of the Israel Manufacturers Association sent a letter Monday to members of the association, calling on them to preserve the rights of workers who do reserve duty as a way of encouraging and providing an incentive for performing that duty. He also called on Industry, Commerce and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer to give preference for civil service positions to reserve officers.
Brosh will be one of those in attendance at Tel Aviv University on Tuesday, when the Defense Minister's Reserve Shield award is presented to employers who encourage reserve duty by protecting the positions of workers who serve in reserves.
