Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas welcomed renewed talks with Israel on Sunday and said the PA only agreed to talks that would last a limited time. Interviewed by Al Ayam while on a trip to China, Abu Mazen said the length of the talks would determine how serious Israel is.
He said he did not ask to be invited to the United States this month but was accepting the invitation in the interest of advancing the peace process.
