Jewish Leadership official Shmuel Sackett says he was threatened by Netanyahu supporters at a Likud member meeting at which the Prime Minister spoke.

“When Netanyahu was finished speaking, music started playing and people were standing and applauding. I stood as well, next to my seat, and started giving the ‘thumbs-down’ sign.”

“All of a sudden, a big, fat security guard came and started whacking me on my upper right arm. I didn’t budge. He then said, 'Put your hands down!' I turned to him and said, 'Listen fatso, you look hungry. Go get something to eat. And – by the way – if you touch me again, I am going to hit you so hard you will fly out of this room!' I kept my two thumbs – pointing down – high in the air. The media started running towards me.”

“That started a near riot with many people screaming at me. I then took out my Likud Central Committee membership card and held it up. ‘I am a Central Committee member’ I said. ‘I have the full right to be here and express my opinion!’ People were yelling at me, and then some top guys from Likud said, ‘Don’t yell at him, he is getting all the attention from the media! Leave him alone’.”

“He happened to be right! Here I was, one opponent in a sea of supporters, and I was getting all of the media attention. In any case, my picture was in today’s Ma’ariv and Yediot newspapers! I was also interviewed by YNET.”
