Bnei-Akiva High-School Students Win Volunteer Award

Yael Madmon, a student at the Bnei Akiva Ulpanit girl's high school in Tel Aviv, was chosen Thursday to receive the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Activist" award for volunteerism. Tziporah Pixel, anouther student at the school, was selected the winner for the Tel Aviv area.

Yael was recognized for teaching first graders as part of the "L'oro Nelech" (Let us go to His light) project and the "Gar'in Yonatan" (Jonathan Core Group) in which Bnei Akiva members help the needy in development communities. School principal Yaffa Magnes said she also received phone calls from Bnei Akiva activity centers and organizations involved in collecting food for the needy, praising Yael's efforts.
