The Palestinian Authority has extended its boycott of Israeli goods from Judea and Samaria to fruits and vegetables. A group of PA enforcers over the past week have been confiscating and smashing watermelons which were grown by Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria – destroying 7.5 tons of watermelons in the process.

The destruction of the watermelons was done on the spot, with the enforcers grabbing watermelons and smashing them in front of the stalls of sellers. “The destruction of the watermelons was done publicly so that PA merchants will not be tempted to bring in merchandise from the settlements,” a PA statement said. “We will not stop at barring goods and destroying them, but we will also put on trial merchants caught with such products,” the statement said. The official penalty in the PA for “collaboration” with Israel is death.
