An examination of the “black box” flight recorder from the downed plane that carried Polish President Lech Kaczynski and many other senior Polish figures indicates that it was a “pilot error” that caused the crash over Russia, a report on Russian Televison said. Everyone on board the plane was killed. The report said that some of the bodies recovered from the crash site would arrive in Poland Sunday afternoon.
Poland declared a week of mourning over the tragedy Sunday. An Israeli official in Warsaw told Israel Radio that a memorial service for the fallen Polish leader would be held Sunday, before Holocaust Memorial Day ceremonies begin.
