Salam Fayyad, who served as an economist for the International Monetary Fund until being chosen by former United States President George W. Bush to be the unelected prime minister of the American-backed Palestinian Authority, said Saturday in Bethlehem that next year the PA will celebrate the Holy Fire vigil in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, “the capital of the Palestinian state.”
