Early detection of Parkinson's Disease is being helped by a method developed by Professor Shimon Sapir of the Communications Disorder faculty at the University of Haifa. The method analyzes sound waves produced during speech.

The study was conducted in cooperation with researchers from the United States. It was funded by the US National Institutes of Health and published in the Journal of Speech Language and Hearing Research.
