MK Moshe Matalon (Yisrael Beiteinu) on Sunday called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to intervene in the construction of a reinforced operating room at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, which has been held up due to opposition by United Torah Jewry to building the operating room on the site of several ancient graves. “The Hareidim must understand that at this time, the sanctity of life must trump the honor of the dead. We are not moving the graves for construction but for defense of the residents of the city,” he said.
