On Monday Google is expected to announce that it will shut down its operations in China on April 10, according to a news story in a Beijing-based newspaper. Google has stated in the past the there is a 99.9% chance that it will shut down its google.cn search engine due to the Chinese government's demand that it censor search results.
Another catalyzer for Google's expected move is that it has identified China as the source of attacks on Gmail e-mail accounts belonging to Chinese human rights activists.
