Conference on Basel II Banking Accords Friday

The Supervisor of Banking will on Friday hold a conference on the adoption of the Basel II Accords on banking laws and regulations in Israel. Adoption of the accords, which began this year, ensures that Israeli banking practices match those of banks around the world. The accords, initially published in June 2004, create an international standard that banking regulators can use when creating regulations about how much capital banks need to put aside to guard against financial risk.
