Building Activists Begin Campaign in Ramat Shlomo

Activists in the Halamish organization, which promotes building in Judea and Samaria, posted large wall posters in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Jerusalem describing the severe housing shortage of many families in the neighborhood. “The Land of Israel is ours and our responsibility requires us to immediately put an end to the building freeze in the Holy Land.”

Activists say that the campaign is due to the intervention of U.S. President Barack Obama, who demanded that the housing plan announced for the neighborhood be frozen. “We are protesting against the capitulation of the government, especially over statements by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that building will begin in only a few years,” the activists said.
