Professor Hagi Ben-Artzi, brother-in-law to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, has accused United States President Barack Obama of blatant anti-Semitism in his recent treatment of Israel. The remarks came in the wake of a tense dispute between Washington and Jerusalem over planned Jewish construction in Jerusalem’s northwestern Ramat Shlomo neighborhood. The Prime Ministers Office has officially expressed Netanyahu’s disapproval of Professor Ben-Artzi’s remarks.
