Member of Knesset Talab El-Sana (United Arab List-Ta'al) said that the Knesset’s passing of a softened Nakba law “proves the failure of Zionism, which needs to legislate a law in order to force the Zionist narrative and to rewrite history.”

The Arab lawmaker further challenged the Zionist narrative and compared the creation if the Jewish state as a disaster for local Arabs on par with the destruction of the previous Jewish state nearly 2,000 years ago as a disaster for Jews, saying local Arabs “will continue to unify around its disaster, which is identical to the destruction of the First and Second Temples for the Jews, and will hold marches in full force until the Zionist movement recognizes its responsibility for the Nakba.”
