Sources in Paris on Tuesday said that Israel has apparently passed the final hurdle to becoming a member of the OECD. A hearing in Paris this week discussed Israel's candidacy and the country's compliance with OECD rules on dealing with corruption in the financial and public sector. An Israeli delegation presented to the committee the country's actions in dealing with these issues. An official statement on Israel's membership is set to be released in the coming days, the sources said, after which a vote will be taken among current members on including Israel.
