Netanyahu Asks Likud to Finish Work on Three Projects
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the Likud faction today, and asked them to work towards completing three important projects.
He said, "yesterday the government made three decisions that perhaps were not noticed. I wanted to bring attention each one: the decision to simplify procedures for planning and construction. Every citizen knows the bureaucracy. Israel is almost last place in the advanced nations in terms of the time required to complete the tedious planning process. This together with the deployment of trains and improvement of roads will free up the bottlenecks."
"At the same time, we decided to establish a barrier (with Egypt) which will be partially a fence. This is a very important decision. We assigned to it 1.35 billion shekels. It is a matter of preventing infiltration, prevention of trafficking of drugs and women. This is one of important decisions to ensure the character of Israel as a Jewish democratic state."
"A third decision is the decision to return to Israel its scientists at a cost of 450 million shekel. We are trying to attract back home people with creative minds and the ability to move forward science and technology."
