Brazilian President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva landed Sunday evening in Israel and is expected to meet with President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Lula da Silva slighted Israel by refusing the customary diplomatic visit to Mount Herzl and the gravesite of Theodore Herzl, but during his visit to Ramallah, he is scheduled to visit Yasser Arafat's grave.
