A new bill introduced by New York state Assemblyman Felix Otiz would prohibit the use of all forms of salt in the preparation and cooking of all restaurant food. According to Mr. Ortiz, the purpose of his bill is to protect the public's health from the dangers of salt consumption.

Chefs and restaurant owners strongly oppose the bill and have created a public action group to oppose the anti-salt bill called My Food My Choice.
