The Civil Authority destroyed foundations for six structures in Gush Etzion overnight Wednesday, among them the foundations for a future synagogue. Residents protested the demolition. Mks Ze'ev Elkin (Likud) and Aryeh Eldad (National Union) said that “Defense Minister Ehud Barak has crossed a red line in destroying the foundations of a synagogue in Gush Etzion, which is accepted by everyone as part of the state.”
Earlier Wednesday, the Civil Authority destroyed the foundations of a building in Yakir, in western Samaria. Residents there protested as well, condemning the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
