Defense Minister Ehud Barak refused to respond to a motion in the Knesset asking how it was possible that the building freeze on Jewish construction could be applied to the homes being built for the former residents of Netzarim in Gush Katif who are rebuilding their lives in the Samarian town of Ariel.

MK Uriel Ariel said in response to the decision that, "Barak must think that those who lost their homes have not suffered enough."
