Minister Landau: Racist to Prevent Jewish Building
Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau, responding to the Ramat Shlomo building affair, said in an interview with Arutz Sheva that previous leftist governments planted hope among the Americans for Israeli concessions in Jerusalem and they are to blame for the current criticism against the Jewish State.
"I resent that the previous governments planted in the heart of our friends the belief that we are willing to give up precious things to us like Jerusalem," said Landau. Landau added that much work remains to be done to "make it clear that there will not be any negotiations over Jerusalem and that citizens of the city both Jewish and Arabs can build anywhere in Jerusalem undisturbed."
Minister Landau said that the attempt to prevent Jewish construction in parts of Jerusalem is really a racist idea. The idea that Arab construction in Jerusalem is allowed while Jewish construction is forbidden is discriminatory, he said.
