Supreme Court Justices Eliezer Rivlin, Edna Arbel and Neal Handel rejected a petition by MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari, Land of Israel activist Itamar Ben Gvir Staff and the SOS Israel organization which demanded punishment for imprisoned terrorist Marwan Barghouti after he held a series of illegal interviews with the media from inside prison.

In their decision, the judges said that after reviewing 'confidential material' submitted to them, and after the Prisons Service Commissioner announced that he is considering actions to reduce the possibility that Barghouti will be able to commit such infractions in the future, the judges ruled that the petition was 'premature' and therefore they rejected it.
