A small group of people are demonstrating in front of a Haifa court Wednesday carrying signs reading, “Remembering Rachel Corrie.” Corrie was an American activist for the anti-Zionist International Solidarity Movement killed by an IDF bulldozer in 2003 during a protest in Rafah. Israel asserted at the time that the soldiers who had operated the bulldozer were not responsible for Corrie’s death and her parents are currently demanding $334,000 in compensation. A hearing on the civil suit filed by Corrie’s parents is scheduled to take place in the Haifa court on Wednesday.
