A new edition of the Passover Haggadah edited by the late Dr. Yisrael Eldad, called “Tonight We Leave Egypt,” has been published, and in a special ceremony Tuesday, Dr. Eldad's son, MK Aryeh Eldad, presented a copy of the new edition of the Haggadah to Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin. MK Eldad said that the Haggadah commentary by his father was even more relevant today than when it was originally written.
Dr. Eldad, who was a leader of the Lechi and a chief architect of the philosophy of Revisionist Zionism after the establishment of the State, was a prolific writer on Jewish and Zionist philosophy and ideas. The Hagaddah contains the traditional text recited at the Passover Seder, accompanied by commentary written by Dr. Eldad on Passover, freedom, redemption, and the Exodus from Egypt.
