The IDF on Tuesday demolished a cave at Shvut Ami, which had been excavated by residents there over a six month period. The cave served as a home for some of the community's residents, and the IDF wrecked it with the residents' possessions still inside. Residents said that they had been “set up” by the army Sunday, when they were accused of throwing stones at IDF soldiers. The accusations made it easier for troops to get away with destroying the cave, they said. Residents said that the cave had been “proof of our love of the land, even under difficult conditions.”
