MK Yoel Hasson (Kadima) said Tuesday that procedures that have been instituted in the Knesset are causing a huge waste of money. In a letter to Knesset officials, Hasson said that he has discovered that large amounts of office supplies are being stored in the Knesset warehouses – but that he was told by warehouse workers that if he needed supplies, it would be preferable to purchase them using money allocated for that purpose, because of 'procedures.' “I don't understand why the Knesset prefers to spend money for new supplies when it already exists in the warehouse, apparently because of a bureaucracy that prevents Mks from saving money for the benefit of the public,” Hasson said.
