The Knesset Aliyah Committee on Monday saluted female veterans of World War II, in honor of International Women's Day, and as its opening commemoration of the 65th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany. Participating in the meeting were MK Leah Shemtov (Yisrael Beiteinu), chairperson of the committee, along with Absorption Minister Sofa Landver, and Mks Marina Solodkin and Famia Kirschenbaum. The committee hosted veterans, who attended wearing their medals. The committee praised the veterans as representatives of over 30,000 Jewish women who took part in the battle against the Nazis.
