Labor Party Chairman and Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke today about the visit of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Israel. At a faction meeting, Barak said that he believes that Biden and Middle East envoy Mitchell "are coming here to make sure the political process gets back on track."

Barak added, "I believe Biden is trying to express the U.S. government's position as partners in values with Israel and its support of Israel. I hope it will be a productive week and that it starts practical, if preliminary steps of the political process."
