The security cabinet is scheduled to convene on Sunday to discuss the missile threat to the home front and steps being taken to prepare the public. Officials announced that the discussion would be headed by OC Home Front Command Major General Yair Golan and Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai (Labor) who is currently in charge of the home front within the Ministry of Defense. The two will present the results of last week’s pilot run during which thousands of gas masks were distributed in Or Yehuda by the Israel Postal Company. The officials said that the distribution was successful and will soon be expanded to other areas of the country with the goal of completing the full distribution of gas masks within three years.
