At the end of the Supreme Court's hearing of the petition submitted by Arabs and Israeli Left-wingers against the decision of the police to ban the their demonstration in the streets of Shimon HaTzaddik the justices stated that "freedom of expression is a basic right but it must be balanced with the concern for public safety."
According to the decision, the demonstration will be held in a basketball court in the neighborhood. The number of protestors should not exceed 300 and the march will be limited in time. The judges also stated that if the protest turns into a riot - the police would intervene.
