The State Attorney's Office asked on Wednesday for the Supreme Court to reject a petition demanding the construction of an armored emergency room at Barzilai Hospital on a disputed site.
In the government's response to the High Court petition it was revealed that the government supports the proposal of Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman not to move the ancient graves found there but instead to adopt an alternative plan proposed in the past by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office to build the emergency ward in the area which is now in the hospital parking lot, which is a dozen meters away from the location of the original proposal.
