The Supreme Court of the European Union ruled on Thursday that goods originating in the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria will be subject to customs. The court based its ruling on the fact that trade agreemeents signed with Israel do not include areas outside the 1949 cease-fire lines.

The ruling came in an appeal by the Israeli Soda Club company of a German court decision to charge Germany's Brita company for importing Soda Club products. Soda Club is located in Mishor Adumim, near Ma'aleh Adumim, beyond the 1949 cease-fire lines east of Jerusalem.
