Japan has offered to enrich uranium for Iran, according to the daily business newspaper Nikkei.

The offer is intended to provide Iran with power, so that the international community will not be concerned that Iran is developing nuclear power in order to create weapons.  The US has approved the idea.

Tehran has not yet responded, also ignoring an offer from Russia to enrich uranium which would be processed for Iran by France.

 

Japan, the only country which has been attacked by nuclear weapons, has been a strong supporter of nuclear non-proliferation.
