Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer has frozen the activities of a committee to formulate the images that will appear on new currency until women are nominated to the committee, according to a Monday evening report by Channel 10 television.

The original committee consisted of at least 20 men and no women. Retired justice Ya'akov Tuerkel, who heads the committee, is expected to name women who will help choose the images of women who will apear on the currency.
