Thirty-five Land of Israel activists who were taken out of Jericho were arrested Sunday evening by the Samaria and Judea (Shai) district of the Israel Police. The police said the number included two women and a number of minors. They said the exact number of minors is not known because the youths are refusing to identify themselves.

The detainees came as part of a group of 60 activists who marched into Jericho as part of an effort to promote a Jewish return to the city. They said the march was not coordinated with the Israel Defense Forces so as to make a statement. As part of Area A under Palestinian Authority control, entry into Jericho is prohibited without unless coordinated with the IDF.
